Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

IS IT SAFE ON CHILDREN’S SKIN?

Yes. The pad is designed to be hypoallergenic. The menthol agents are placed between the absorbent layer and the back sheet, so they never touch the skin directly through the top sheet.

HOW MUCH MENTHOL CONTENT DOES THE PAD HAVE? ISN’T MENTHOL NOT RECOMMENDED FOR CHILDREN?

The menthol content is kept at a safe level—around 0.5 to 1% of the pad’s weight. That’s just enough to provide a refreshing, cooling sensation without being too overwhelming. For now, we’re using peppermint powder because it delivers a sweet, light, minty, and refreshing effect, along with some respiratory benefits. It also helps us reduce costs. In addition, the pad is designed for children aged 7 and above, and we advise against its use for those younger than 7. We will have this notice on the packaging to guide parents.

HOW DO YOU THINK IT WILL COMPARE WITH REUSABLE TOWELS FOR PARENTS WORKING WITH A TIGHT BUDGET?

The great thing about this pad is that it’s a premium product—made for middle-class families and above, yet priced so even lower-income households can afford it. Many people think reusable towels save money, but that comes at the cost of convenience and efficiency. No one wants to carry around a sweat-soaked towel in their bag or car, only to wash and reuse it again and again. This pad solves that problem.

This product also plays on the psychology of women—like when moms at school naturally compare how they care for their kids. In those moments, the pad becomes more than just practical: it’s a status symbol, showing that a parent can truly provide the best care for their child. Many moms naturally compare how they care for their kids and like to show that they’re better than the “other” mom in the classroom. Some even show it off simply to prove they can afford it, which reflects a familiar aspect of Filipino behavior. At this point, it’s not just about affordability—it’s about Filipino pride, something deeply ingrained in us.

WHAT OTHER POTENTIAL MARKET DO YOU TARGET ASIDE FROM CHILDREN OVER 7?

This mentholated sweat pad isn’t just for kids—it’s also ideal for adults who want a refreshing way to stay cool and comfortable.

PORTABLE FANS MAY DO MORE HARM THAN GOOD IN EXTREME HEAT, EXPERTS WARN

Using portable fans in hot weather might seem helpful, but experts warn they can actually make it harder for the body to cool down.

Dr. Kunihisa Miura of Tokyo Hikifune Hospital says that when air temperatures are higher than body temperature, fans can raise skin temperature instead of lowering it—especially if sweat dries on the skin while using them.

He advises against using portable fans outdoors when it’s around 30°C (86°F) or higher. Children are especially at risk due to their height and greater exposure to heat radiating from the ground.

Portable fans that hang around the neck or clip to the waist have grown in popularity, but many use lithium-ion batteries, which can overheat or catch fire if dropped or left in hot places like cars.

Japan’s National Institute of Technology and Evaluation (NITE) reported 51 fan-related accidents over the last five years, including one case where a man was burned when his fan caught fire while charging.

These risks are even more serious for kids using fans during school or physical activity, where rough handling could damage the device. Many parents are now cautious about letting children use them.

The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency has also issued similar warnings about fan use during extreme heat.
